Principal's Message

Windy Ridge Families-
Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year.
This weekly newsletter will be our first line of communication with families throughout the year. Please read through all of the sections for important information. The faculty and staff at Windy Ridge are excited to see our students on Tuesday. We will be welcoming over 1000 students on Tuesday and we really would like for it to run smoothly. Please be patient with each other and the staff. If you are driving your student to school, please pay attention to the signs in the car loop and the staff assisting. Please try not to block traffic, as we will be trying to process everyone quickly and safely.
I would like to update everyone on some of our staff adjustments. Unfortunately, we had to lose Ms. Ficquette as our second Assistant Principal. We will miss her, but she is in a great situation closer to home.
We have hired a few staff members over the summer that may not be all the way through the hiring process on the first day of school. We are trying though. If the teachers are not on-boarded by Tuesday, please know we will have qualified personnel in all rooms.
I hope you had an adventurous summer full of family fun. We are ready to get the work done this year. Let the learning begin!

SAC/ PTSA

SAC Representation

Every year, the school is required to elect representatives for the School Advisory Committee. The committee is made up of staff, parents and community members. Anyone can attend our SAC meetings without being a voting member. However, if you would like to be considered to be a voting member, please complete this form:

We will vote on our members at our first SAC meeting. We will send out communication as soon as we confirm the date.

School bus registrations are open for the 2026-2027 school year. Register today to reserve your student's ride.
  • If your student is eligible for school bus transportation, you must register your student to ride the bus. All students who ride the bus will receive a Bus ID Card, if you have a bus tag from a previous year, you will not be getting a new tag unless something happened to your previous tag. We will also assign our bus riders a bus character as well such as Turtle, Horse, etc.

Rainy Day Dismissal

On the off chance that there is severe weather in the area at dismissal, we will follow this procedure:

  • Families will receive a Parent Square notice of a "Delayed Dismissal".
  • During Delayed dismissals, we are not permitted to let the students leave, unless they are accompanied by an approved family/friend member as indicated in skyward.
  • If you choose to come to the school, we will process all families through the cafeteria.
  • You will first check in with someone that will arrange for your child to pack up and walk down.
  • From that station, you will need to have your ID verified to ensure that you have permission to pick up any and all students that you are requesting.
  • After your ID is verified, you will wait in the main hallway for your student(s) to arrive and you can leave through the main doors.
  • We will not be able to release any students to an adult that does not have ID. This is a safety concern.
  • You must be approved in Skyward to pick up any student that you are not personally responsible for. Please make sure that you complete the form that will go home on the first day. Any contacts that you added in the past will remain in the system.

Schedule Adjustments

Families- Thank you for those of you that came out to Meet the Teacher last week. Our staff and I have been working hard to ensure we were able to accomodate the course requests and compatibility forms that were sent out last year. We cannot guarantee any adjustments as long as your child is scheduled in the correct required courses. However, if you have an issue with your child's schedule, please use the link below. We will continue to work on these next week.
